Oh my goodness!

So I'm trying to build my influence and in doing this I'm sharing to more and more groups.

I've had a flood of new friend requests, so after checking to make sure they aren't fake accounts and religious extremist I've added a lot of new people as friends.

This immediately caused my messenger to go off the charts!

I'm not that person who fusses or complains about chain mail, just another way my friends let me know they are thinking of me, but this flood of incoming messages from new people is too much!

I have a page! You're welcome to look at it, post on it, participate in the discussions that go on there. Why are you private messaging me?

I absolutely detest the ones that call me babe or try being super familiar. The worst part is they continue to message me whether I respond or not and some of them have gotten down right nasty about it.

Um excuse me, what if I didn't have messenger in the first place? You're cussing out someone you just met about not replying to a message you sent them.

It would be different if it were one or two but its every single one of them! What's up with that?

I only pm people I really know, who are in my personal life and by personal life I mean I've known you for more than five minutes on facebook!

You have the ones on the other side of the world who really don't care you might be sleeping, so your messenger is binging all night, which means I have to log out and turn down the volume to everything before I go to bed. There are those who somehow see you've come on and the minute you've done something they start messaging you.

This doesn't work for me people. I don't have time to sit around all day long pm'ing people. If you want to get to know me all you have to do is look at my page, it's all right there for the entire world to see.

I understand some of them are just working their way up to try to scam me. These are hilarious because I'm from America, the land of scams, I'm from the streets, where all the scams originated.

They want you to believe they've got fifty kids starving to death but they've got internet, a phone and or a computer and they are spending all their time trying to get money out of me or anyone else who will fall for it.

I'm not saying all of them are not legit, I'm just saying they can't prove they are and I am not going to just send money to someone who thinks they gave me a good sob story.

I have my own ministry that needs money and that doesn't mean I don't sew into other people's lives but I do it from where I am, with people who are right in front of me, with people I know or meet on the streets, with people I've known more than a couple of minutes over facebook.

Okello Nixion is the only person I can prove is real on the other side of the airways and he can get my money, but we've been friends for years now and he's never even asked for it.

I know I'm not the only one this is happening to and I don't really want to shout it out over my page because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, especially not someone new who might need to hear something I have to say.

It's a catch twenty two and it's making me not even want to accept new friend requests because the minute I do here come the messages!
