I just got home from Lover's Lane.  What is Lover's Lane you ask? Lover's Lane is looking like Jesus in service to others. Today we did something different. If you  know anything about us, we take home cooked meals to the streets every single Sunday, cold water, socks, whatever anyone gives us to take. There's a shelter for men down there, Friendship Mission.  These are the guys transitioning from the streets, getting shuffled around by the VA and trying to make it.  I can't even tell you how many times I've walked in there to simply say, "I love you.", to the people who were there.  I stop and tell them "I love them" all the time.  If you gave me a truck load of food tomorrow I would drive straight down there and give it to those guys. Funny how the mind works sometimes.  You can't remember something that happened two minutes ago but things that happened decades ago are still there, forever burnt into your memory. Dumb stuff when you're desperately reaching for things you know have to be important. So many things racing through it right this second I'm trying to categorize and put it all together in words. You can't imagine what's happening in my head and my heart right this second.  A dam of memories just broke loose and there's so much I want to tell you about this picture! I've just recently made a lot of new friends, so if you know my story bare with me, I'm sure you've not heard it all. This is where God brought me from. Fulton Industrial Boulevard, the FIB, where they say you ain't leaving unless it's in a body bag. This is the corner of Wendell Drive and Fulton Industrial Boulevard and this was home base. I cannot tell you how many times I've been at this corner or walked up and down both these streets.  From the first part of 2000 until the end of 2004 I was homeless on the boulevard.  You can't see it but behind me is a gas station and the same people I knew back then were in that gas station parking lot doing the same thin...

How many times have we taken a wrong turn in a conversation? There is life and death in the tongue, so what are you speaking to the rest of the world? Speak life! People are hurting, sick, suffering, life is beating them up! You could save someone's life with one kind word! One word! Look around you, you don't know what others are going through, some of them may be barely holding on.  You come along with life!  Thankfulness and love overflow from your heart.  The goodness of God washes over every place your foot treads.  You change the atmosphere everywhere you go! You carry the kingdom of God!  Heal the sick, set the captives free, raise the dead. Speak life! I love you all so much!

Let's say you're standing in the pulpit, you've been asked to speak, you're all jacked up with excitement and nerves and all those faces staring back at you.  All those faces! You're shaking, your stomach won't be still, you've got something to say. The gospel is good news right? What are you going to talk about? Everyone is expecting good news, because the gospel is good news and they've been preaching the other way for entirely too long. What if? This is the only opportunity you are ever going to have in your entire life to say something to a group. What can you say to them that will change their lives? Think about it. Is it good news? When others hear it will their spirits dance around in happiness and confirmation? This one chance! Once in a lifetime opportunity. Say something! What are you going to say? Love has a name. Jesus. I was in Atlanta with Sharon the other day and went to the west side to take the tags off Kitty Tangerine, the Cadillac I bought so my husband wouldn't steal my truck.  Sure enough the back windshield out of it, but I gave it to his sister, so she can strip it down for parts for her caddy.  I'm through with it. The corner in the picture I've walked thousands of times. 2000 to 2004 I lived on this street, five blocks to the left, three blocks to the right.  I camped way up in the woods two blocks, across the street from this very spot. West side. If you know me and you read my blog what I'm about to say is not going to shake the very core of your belief system or make you wonder about me. I am not a christian. I know right? I'm not a christian. I have never been a christian and will never be a christian. Why you ask? Think about it. Christianity - relating to or professing christianity or its teachings. Do you see Jesus' name in there anywhere? Neither did I. Over the years its always made me uncomfortable when people asked me if I was a christian and maybe it was this deep buried belief of something closer to the truth. Labels, labels, labels, we love our adjectives and to stick labels on everything.  Everything has to have a label right?  Come away with me. Think about all the things in your life that have you worried, twisted up and wishing.  All the stuff that keeps you laying awake at night. Jesus says come away with me. I know we think these things are important but they really aren't.  The most important thing on the face of the planet is being in a relationship with Jesus, with the creator of the universe.  It transcends, knowledge, space and time. It's you and Him. It's not what you know it's Who you know!

What's the deal with this? I told someone they hurt me not too long ago and they told me all about myself. How I rip people up on my page. For the life of me I can't find that post. How I'm supposed to be setting an example. Ha! Me setting an example? Not happening. I mean who cares my feelings were hurt? Who cares it took courage to speak up. Told me all about myself. Don't watch me, because I know for a fact I'm not going to get something right, I'm going to go off the deep end or say something crazy, or do something that makes everyone cringe. I get it, so much knowledge has increased, we have babies using cell phones which are computers better than grown folks. That's all fine and good.  I love to learn. I've recently come across a few groups where it's supposed to be a safe place, to express ideas, yeah okay, whatever. I was learning so much, stuff I'd never considered ever before.  Things about the bible I'd never heard anyone say. I was totally wowed by these people. Guess what? I shouldn't have been and who cares that much in the first place? How much free time do you have? I'm in love with Jesus. I'm chasing after Jesus. I belong to Him. Nothing else matters! That's so deep!  I want my heaven right here, right now, to get my face rocked by it!  Love wins! Think about all the people who are in your heart. All of them. Do you have that picture?
