What's Your Good News?
Let's say you're standing in the pulpit, you've been asked to speak, you're all jacked up with excitement and nerves and all those faces staring back at you. All those faces!
You're shaking, your stomach won't be still, you've got something to say.
The gospel is good news right?
What are you going to talk about?
Everyone is expecting good news, because the gospel is good news and they've been preaching the other way for entirely too long.
What if?
This is the only opportunity you are ever going to have in your entire life to say something to a group.
What can you say to them that will change their lives?
Think about it.
Is it good news?
When others hear it will their spirits dance around in happiness and confirmation?
This one chance!
Once in a lifetime opportunity.
Say something!
What are you going to say?
Love has a name.
Jesus.
What heals and makes whole?
LOVE!
JESUS!
What heals broken places in our lives?
Love!
Jesus!
That's good news!
Such good news!
I'm getting excited!
Good news is that moment when a soul stops and thinks, "Wow, I'm not the only one."
Good news is when someone exhales that sigh of relief because they aren't going to hell, their life before Jesus was hell!
Why would you waste a good message talking about nonsense that it the complete opposite of life?
Speak life!
Tell them how loved they are!
It's not a lie!
Tell them how nothing can separate us from His love!
It's okay we all don't believe the same, families argue, no two people believe exactly alike and freedom allows you to be in perfect union with Him.
You're in a relationship with Jesus!
What can you tell others about that?
What I believe and what my relationship looks like are two entirely different universes.
I love Jesus!
We're always chasing one another down with this love exchange. He woos me and pursues me, He is the lover of my soul.
He's not concerned with how I behave, what I've done, where I come from, He loves me right here, right now, in this very moment and He's never going to stop loving me for all of eternity.
Tell them!
That's good news!
Set them free to love the Father!
Tell them how amazing they are!
How loved they are!
Tell them they are more valuable than precious stones.
Everything works for their good!
Tell them all the good news of the kingdom!
The cryer only calls out good news about the kingdom. He doesn't stand in the square whining about an approaching enemy, warning others of impending doom, yelling tales of woe to passersby, he's always proclaiming the goodness of the kingdom, the goodness of the king.
He is The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords.
He owns everything!
He's a good good Father!
His mercy endures forever!
What are you going to say to them?
You'll never hear me talk about darkness.
Love is my religion.
Love is good news.
Love wins!
Don't waste your one message babbling on and on about demons and hell and things we've obviously misunderstood, or translated wrong in some way.
You're a fisher of men!
You're winning souls, not scaring them away!
Good news is a hope and a future.
Everything works for your good.
God is never going to stop loving you.
What's your good news?
